Purchased mini chopper to replace older chopper, it works well, use to puree and mince food for my Dad. no problems so far.
All parts rinse easily and go in the top rack of the dishwasher and your done. The krups was a bit more expensive than the others but we already knew the cheap ones weren't worth the hassles. I bought this for my wife for Christmas. After reading the reviews for other brands of mini-choppers they all seemed to have fatal flaws of some sort. We mostly use this for onions, but it works well for bread crumbs and tomatoes and other things you need a fine chop on but don't want to drag out the big food processor.
for chopping, and also to puree as my blender will not perform this function very well. This has a nice sleek form. I am not happy with it's lack of places in which to hold or grip the unit. I had owned a larger, different model a few years back, which worked fine but later broke. Other than those two downfalls, due to design flaws()., I really love this little machine. I wanted it mainly for smaller things like onions, peppers, cilantro, etc.
The bowl also has ridged areas running vertical, which makes it a little harder to scrape the contents. I purchased this unit based on reviews here. I wanted a smaller unit, as I don't have alot of room for storage. This unit has a lot of power and works excellent for onions, carrots, cilantro, which I have processed so far.
Very good quality, not like Cuisineart I had before -(broke down after 2 years). If you need a small reliable chopper - go for Krups.
I happened to have a narrow spatula which is much for flexible. Success at all levels. Potential Con. So far, I've used to make a few different pesto recipes, several fruit and yogurt smoothies and a few vegetable puree's.
I haven't tried the Mayo / whip cream whipper - do, yet. But - I was living in a very hot and dry desert at that time, maybe the compound has changed. I've had other mixers that had similar sealing methods and they hardened up after a few years. I got it to replace a Cuisinart which had imploded a month or so ago. This small machine is delightful to use and easy to clean. The forcing ribs on the inside of the cup can be a bit tedious to clean with the supplied spatula. The same ribs, are an internal structural element, created to strengthen the plastic or acrylic walls of the container - they're not just cosmetic but add a lot to the structural integrity. Conclusion - easy to use, easy to clean, tiny footprint for my small kitchen counters.
My living circumstances certainly have. The Krups (Chinese Manufacture) is an elegant solution for a small, strong food processor. problem solved. The well designed top gasket 'may' need to be replaced in a few years.
